Learning, teaching, taking responsibility
Being curious, exploring unknown paths and trying things out - that is a natural part of a university. We are also exploring new and modern ways of acquiring and passing on knowledge in the areas of teaching, learning and responsibility.
Especially in an ever faster changing world, it is important to keep the level of knowledge up to date and to use new ways of imparting knowledge. Whether it's modern pedagogical methods, the use of the latest technology or special learning locations - the range of teaching and learning is broad and covers child education, student learning and lifelong learning.
All of these topics are always about responsibility. Taking responsibility for those we train, but also encouraging them to take responsibility themselves. This must also be taught and learned.
Feel free to contact us if these are the topics that interest you and that you would like to promote. We will work with you to find the right project for you. The fundraising team looks forward to hearing from you!
TUM Research Station Friedrich N. Schwarz
The TUM Friedrich N. Schwarz Research Station was opened in July 2019.
In educational research, concepts are being tested in Berchtesgaden on how successful science lessons can be developed from observing nature. The findings flow directly into the TUM's teacher training courses.
The station works together with the Berchtesgadener Land student research center. The new teaching and research station, with overnight accommodation for up to 40 people, expands TUM's range of work in both teaching and research. This model is unparalleled in Germany.
We would like to thank our generous benefactor Senator e.h. Friedrich N. Schwarz, who financed this pioneering project through the TUM University Foundation!
Deutschlandstipendium
In 2011, the federal government launched the Deutschlandstipendium program with the aim of supporting students and promoting a greater scholarship culture in Germany. Scholarship holders receive 300 euros a month - half of which comes from private sponsors, while the other half is provided by the federal government. In addition to the financial support, valuable contacts and networks are created for students and sponsors alike. TUM has been involved right from the start and has now been able to award over 8000 scholarships. Many thanks to all sponsors!
The students are relieved financially and have to spend less time earning a living. Many of them use this freed-up time to get involved socially and in other ways. We expressly welcome and support this because it shows that commitment leads to commitment. For the good of society!
